The two co-founders of Ecumene Ventures - Yerzhan Nauruzbayev and Bauyrzhan Amirzhanov - have a combined experience of 20+ years in fuel management, commodities supply chain, and environmental services. Their multi-continent (North America, Europe, Asia) careers progressed at the intersection of technology and the petroleum industry.

Company name Ecumene stems from the international nature of the co-founders' professional backgrounds. The word "ecumene" came from ancient Greek and was used to describe the known world. Our team members always strive to grow their ecumene, both personal and professional.

Ecumene co-founders bring together deep subject matter expertise in fuel management, petroleum, supply chain, industrial software, and emissions-reducing mechanisms.

Yerzhan Nauruzbayev

Ecumene CEO and co-founder Yerzhan Nauruzbayev graduated from St.Norbert College in the USA with a major in Global Business. Yerzhan's experience in Transportation Tech dates back to 2011. Since then, he has held various roles at Breakthrough Fuel, LaneHub, and FG BCS.

In his career, Yerzhan has developed innovative products at the intersection of commodities and transportation. He has a proven track record of successful end-to-end optimization technology implementations at Fortune 500 companies.

Marine fuel has always been Yerzhan's passion. He has developed a solution for shipper-carrier fuel cost management in the past. However, serving as the Head of Product Development at a major financial powerhouse in Europe enabled Yerzhan to facilitate the whole marine fuel supply chain.

From a crude oil barrel extracted in Western Siberia to fuel oil produced at a refinery in Eastern Europe. From the refinery gate to a physical bunker supplier in Rotterdam. Then to a bunker trader based in Singapore and ultimately to the buyer on the carrier side.

The combination of expertise in Fuel Reimbursement and Fuel Procurement has ultimately led to the creation of the Ecumene methodology, the industry's first per shipment, per voyage fuel costs and CO2 emissions calculation mechanism.
